Factors
UNDP’s DHL project in Pakistan promotes human rights, inclusive governance, and sustainable evolution by supporting institutions and unprotected communities. It works with government, civil society, and the private sector to ensure impartial service delivery and strengthen rights-based approaches. Through its Business & Human Rights program, UNDP aids in implementing national plans and helping accountability in business practices. The reserve UN Volunteer will support the Social Welfare Department in Quetta with research, advocacy, and communications on human rights in Balochistan.
Work Description
The UN Volunteer will support the Social Welfare Department in Balochistan with implementing and observing the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP-BHR). Key tasks include coordinating with stakeholders, organizing events, conducting research, drafting reports and communication materials, and supporting policy adjusting with human rights standards. The role also involves building collaboration with the private sector, engaging civil society, and facilitating awareness and capacity-building activities related to responsible business practices and human rights in the province.

Skills & Experience
- Background in human rights, law, or governance at national or international level
- Strong research and analysis skills in human rights legislation and policy
- Excellent communication and writing abilities with clear, effective reporting
- Interpersonal skills with a collaborative, culturally sensitive approach
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management
- Knowledge of communication tools for development
- Experience with UN or international organizations is a plus

Living Conditions
This is a national UN Volunteer assignment, so the volunteer will need to manage their own housing and daily living needs. The UNV Field Unit will help in opening a local bank account (in Pakistani Rupees) at Standard Chartered or another bank in the duty station area.
