About the Conference
The Sixth Global Conference on lengthening Synergies between the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda is a major platform to innovate joint action on climate and sustainable growth. Co-convened by UN DESA and UNFCCC, and organized by Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event will unite policymakers, experts, and stakeholders to promote impactful, combined solutions for a sustainable future.
Objectives Of 6th Global Climate and SDG Synergies Conference
The sixth global conference, which will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, has some of the main objectives: to strengthen the coherence between the first Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda; to promote a comprehensive and results-based climate and development process; and to encourage cross-sectoral collaboration for all of this. This conference is also important because it seeks to foster international partnerships between governments, the private sector and civil society to scale up solutions based on modern technology.
Why This Matters
The global is intercepting multiple, interrelated challenges climate change, inequality, biodiversity loss, and financial instability that require integrated action. Since over 80% of the SDGs are bound to climate action, the conference seeks to overcome splinter efforts by promoting integrated solutions that raise impact, improve resource use, and ensure overall progress.
